Toy-Balanced Tabletops

The Hot Desk by Boys and Girls is Cleverly Counterbalanced

The Hot Desk by Boys and Girls puts your favorite childhood accessories to use and keeps your office decor imaginatively balanced. The Dublin creative agency Boys and Girls has created this whimsical reception desk, that appears to be supported on one side by giant Jenga blocks and by buoyantly bright balloons on the other. By adding refreshing splashes of primary colors and toy-inspired workstations this desk cheers up ordinary office spaces.

The balloons that support the Hot Desk are real and were created specifically for this project. Using a new type of rubber composite, permanent hot air balloons were made that could support the weight of half the desk and would not degrade. The other half of the desk is supported by four solid wood Jenga Blocks, which have been hand-carved.

Boys and Girls collaborated with Twisted Image to create this table in response to an article that complained its reception area was too ordinary. With the arrival of this desk design, Boys and Girls have made the point that its creative creations and atmosphere are anything but ordinary.
