The Spring/Summer 2012 'To The Pure' photoshoot is entirely reflective of the looks and attitudes maintained by 1990s grunge music enthusiasts. The Finnish model Suvi Koponen is captured here in black and white, furthering the nostalgic retro theme.
Photographer Chris Vidal Tenomaa orchestrated the To The Pure editorial within various settings, taking Koponen on a tour of diners, beaches and city streets. Stylist Henna Koskinen drove home the vintage band-worshiping motif with a classic Nirvana t-shirt, washed out jean shorts and a plaid shirt: the very ensembles seen by droves of fans during the bustling decade. At the same time, Koponen's shy smile and piercing gaze somehow brings the time period back to life as her appearances are consistent with those seen in the past.
