Hirotoshi Itoh Stone Art rocks. The Japanese artist and artisan Hirotoshi Itoh takes stones and turns them into hilarious and quirky sculptures. Most of his projects have Itoh, "optimizing a stone's original shape," trying to create his work around it. In his neighborhood, Itoh travels to a riverbed by his home to pick up stones in various shapes and forms.
Though as a stonemason Itoh takes on various themes, these sculptures in particular are playfully entertaining. Simple aesthetic changes keep these rocks fun. From the addition of the zipper to a stone to making the a sculpture that resembles sliced bread, Itoh is creating spirited stones. And finally, the teeth stone is sure to get a smile out of anyone.
