For fans of the graphic novel ‘The Five Fists of Science,’ or anyone who enjoys insanely high-powered DIY weaponry that harnesses one of nature’s most intense energy sources, the Tesla Gun will be right up their alley.
Created by Rob Flickenger, this battery-operated creation uses a Tesla coil and aluminum to exude its approximately 2,000 amperes of electric current to create some fairly impressive sparks and quite a loud bang.
While the device does pack a serious punch of electricity, its creator says it's more of a sculpture than an actual weapon and is more likely to harm the person who creates it than anyone else. The gun was constructed as a nod to technology of the past, in true steampunk style, and creates some pretty cool light effects, if nothing else.
