The fake Live With It! App, and its accompanying video parody, was created by the Worse than Bad collective and is geared toward raising awareness about the oil-related crisis in the Niger Delta.
Sponsored by Friends of the Earth Netherlands/Milieudefensie, the campaign features a fake iPhone app and supplementary campaign launch video hosted by actor David Rasche. The faux application would allow residents to report oil spills, find alternative methods of navigating their homeland via oil pipe trails and provide them with the ability to find a different location to attain water if the closest one is not suitable for consumption.
All of these features are directed toward the outrage over mass pollution, destruction of property and the direct threat to the safety of the inhabitants in the Niger Delta that has been caused by ill-functioning and improperly maintained Shell oil pipelines.
