Miniature Clay Food Capsules

Andrea Manzati Models a Nutritious Meal Using Plasticine

The meals of the future may very well resemble these Andrea Manzati plasticine sculptures. Made for an article in Fast Company Magazine about emerging food technologies, Manzati crafted a miniaturized version of an entire meal and placed it inside clear plastic orbs. Aside from being a unique prospective concept for how humans may eat food, Manzati’s work is also notable for its impressive artistry.

Andrea Manzati meticulously crafts each sculpture to retain as much fidelity to their real-life counterparts as possible. This meant craving all the tiny round bulbs of the broccoli, applying a layer of red skin on top of the apple’s white flesh and indenting the meat until it looked tender. Sure, they may not look 100% true to life, but that only adds to the overall charm of the series.
