Delicate Icy Tables

Liquid Glacial by Zaha Hadid Appears to be Slowly Melting

The Liquid Glacial table looks like it was carved out of ice and then sprayed with warm water to give it is slick, transparent look. In reality, it has been carefully and expertly crafted out of clear acrylic. The Liquid Glacial table has even been given a stunning rippling effect that spreads from its center downwards to lend the illusion that it is slowly melting. Art Info aptly describes it as a "mercurial piece that appears to be transitioning between states of matter, seemingly from ice to water."

Designed by renowned Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid, the Liquid Glacial table was recently presented at the opening of the new David Gill showroom London's Mayfair neighborhood. Her Dune collection will soon be displayed alongside the Liquid Glacial table as well.
