Melody-Controlled Navigating Websites

'Your Music School' Site Requires Singing to Scroll

Your Music School, a Hamburg-based vocal education school, increased its online applicants to 30 percent by implementing a creative application form. Instead of using a mouse to browse the website, the school decided to let users sing in order to scroll and surf its pages.

Your Music School developed the new website in hopes of generating a wave of applicants for its vocal coaching courses. This creative process instantly became popular as people started to spread the word.

To scroll up the website's page, a high 'C' note will do. To scroll down, users would use a low note like 'G.' The applicant's voice controls the speed of navigation, which depends on the tone of their voice. Not only is this fun and creative but it's also a screening process; if applicants can't adjust their voices then that's clearly a bad sign.
