First Ever Plywood Sports Car

Splinter Supercar Goes 240 MPH

The world's first wooden Sports car has a lightweight and sculptural design by young American student Joe Harmon. The hand-crafted car is made as much as possible from wood, and the exterior shell has a moulded wood composite skin. Viewers can see him perfecting the prototype via a webcam to his workshop in North Carolina. The ambitious recent graduate conceived of the Splinter is a research project, but there is definately a market and an interest in this innovative luxury design.
