Flower Power-Inspired Vehicles

The Audi 2lip is a Green Design Concept by Davide Varenna

The futuristic Audi 2Lip concept by Davide Varenna, a 22-year-old design student, is a vehicle design for the year 2050. Although there may be a 38-year wait to purchase one of these cars, its features target folks 60 years of age or older as well as a younger audience.

Rather than focusing all design aspects on safety, Varenna puts emphasis on usability and easy access into the cabin. The entrance to the vehicle is an upright opening system, which creates more space to enter and exit. This concept is inspired by the aesthetics of a blossoming flower (hence the name 2Lip).

Another feature is a platform that slides down to provide easier access to the elderly, which can also be used by the disabled. This design offers ample space and visibility as the car parts and larger wheels are designated at the rear of the vehicle. David Varenna came up with the Audi 2Lip concept in his first semester at the Master of Transportation Design in Pforzheim, Germany.
