British sculptor Anish Kapoor's creation offers the perfect surface for this illuminating installation. The metal material reflects Luminous Field's psychedelic video of shifting geometric shapes and colors stunningly.
Created by artists Sean Gallero and Petra Bachmaier of Luftwerk, Luminous Field is comprised of ten mounted projectors. When combined with The Bean, the projectors form a “'playground’ for people to follow and engage with light," according to the designers. Bachmaier elaborates, “We like the combination of image and surface, and the surface can be a structure, an architectural space, or a material. What happens between those two is what really interests us.”
