The Rebecca Taylor Fall 2012 Collection is Unexpectedly Dark

The Rebecca Taylor Fall 2012 collection is not what you might expect from the New York City-based designer, who is typically known for floral prints and feminine silhouettes. However, the designer's fall offering is not about that in the slightest.

Instead, the Rebecca Taylor Fall 2012 collection is full of cozy coats (often with shearling, the season's hottest fabric), studded leggings, oversized sweaters, sheer tops, velvet bottoms and graphic prints.

"Our girl has a slightly darker heart," the designer told Style.com backstage before the show. "Our prints were feeling a little stale, so we took Rebecca Taylor staples and digitized them."

This clever combination of feminine and tough-girl fabrics make for a fantastic look that is undeniably and effortlessly chic.
