The Ecotagnes, an impressive 100% eco-friendly treehouse-style cabin elevated 9 feet above the ground and surrounded by nothing but nature, is located in Haute-Savoie, a region of eastern France that borders both Italy and Switzerland and in the Alps. The lodge is a brainchild of a father and son team, Patrick and Hugo Genand, who serve as hosts at the destination.
Ecotagnes is available for rent in the summer or the winter, and offers to facilitate a variety of activities including hiking, water sports such as wake boarding and scuba diving, mountain biking and of course, skiing and snowboarding. The cozy "hut" is heated by a real fireplace and offers no "modern" luxuries in an attempt to reflect the "pioneer spirit." There is also a chalet available for rent that is a part of the property.
