'Giftwhip' is a new service that makes opening presents online almost as much fun as opening them in real-life. Giftwhip is essentially a virtual gift wrapping service that lets you put an online item in a time-sensitive box that can only be opened on the date of your choosing.

Users begin by selecting a gift box and wrapping paper. They then enter a personalized message and the recipient's email address. A date is selected for when the box can be unopened and a custom email address for the gift is made. When you find a gift you want to give online you enter the custom Giftwhip email address and the "package" will be mailed and unable to be opened until your set date, with a countdown on the package telling the recipient just how long they have to wait. With the rise of Internet shopping, giving gifts is becoming more and more impersonal. Giftwhip is one way to turn an impersonal email gift into something more special.
