This series of hand-crafted bikes from the California-based Masterworks Woodworking, using primarily wood from trees that have been deemed unsafe and torn down.

The artists Bill Holloway and Mauro Hernadez are both self-taught and craft these cycles using old-world woodcrafting techniques and tools, making their final product a true piece of art. The majority of the arboreal material comes from family properties, so people can ride bikes made from the trees they played on as children. These Masterworks Woodworking salvaged wood bikes give a second life to trees that carry sentimental value, an aesthetically beautiful and practical response to wood decay in urban settings.
