Feline-Grooming Bots

Taylor Veltrop Uses His Kinect Robot to Pet his Cat from a Distance

For those of you who would travel if not for the fear your cat may end up lonely, fear not, help has finally arrived. Taylor Veltrop, a software designer in Tokyo, has developed a program that enables people to groom their cats from a distance. It sounds confusing but what this means is that you may be half way around the world, but by using this revolutionary program you can now -- drum roll -- still watch, pet, hang out with and groom your favorite feline friend.

Taylor was able to come up with this product by using an Xbox Kinect controller, a Wii remote, a Treadmill and a Nao humanoid robot together. To watch the tele-operation system in action is mindblowing. This system is the result of over a years work for the bright Mr. Taylor Veltrop.
