The Klaus Pichler 'Skeletons in the Closet' Photo Series is Morbid Fun

Taxidermy takes a creative spin with the Klaus Pichler 'Skeletons in the Closet' photo series. The Austrian artist spent three years in the taxidermy section of the Vienna Museum of natural history. The works features various animals such as rams, mountain goats, wolverines -- even a giant shark and neanderthals set up in various often humorous positions. The neanderthals are featured just casually hanging out at a desk as if waiting for an appointment, juxtaposed in hilarity because they are obviously so out of place. What looks like a great white shark is seen hiding behind a wall with only his jaws sticking out, as if the animal was playing hide and seek with its audience and he had been surprised.

The Austrian photographer did not attend school to become a photographer and he is proud of it. The Klaus Pichler 'Skeletons in the Closet' collection is solid fun.
