WAKAWAKA Solar LED Aims to Bring Africa Out of the Dark

Lighting fuel costs up to 20% of an individual's income in Africa, and most have to depend on kerosene lighting, so Off-Grid Solutions decided to invent the WAKAWAKA Solar LED in an effort to eliminate this problem.

The WAKAWAKA Solar LED is a simple, but effective light that the creators hope will make its way to Africa soon. As the name indicates, this is entirely solar-powered and is dependent on the sun to work. It's also compact for travel-friendly purposes and it even has a clamp that can be put around water bottles. Aside from its lighting purposes, Off-Grid Solutions also has a complementary battery charger for mobiles as well.

With each pledge, Off-Grid Solution hopes that the funds will put the WAKAWAKA Solar LED on mass production. If they reach that goal, they'll start selling to countries in need at a much more affordable price.
