Located at a school in Beijing, China, the public space Rollercoaster by Interval Architects is fashioned entirely out of wood. With a very Asian aesthetic, shuttered wall details provides shade and shelter. Yet, it is its undulating curves that allude to its influence. By redefining the public space, the long Rollercoaster bench provides an iconic image for this school. Humanistic and functional, it really captures the essence of childhood while preparing these students for adulthood as well.
