Technicolored Tree Installations

The 'Dyed in the Wool' Art Piece is a Fairy's Paradise

The installation 'Dyed in the Wool' looks like something out of a Lewis Carroll storybook. This magical woolen forest was manufactured by the London design studio 'not tom' in collaboration with the British illustrator Loui Thomas for the 'Wool Modern' exhibit now showing at La Galleria in Pall Mall. These technicolor spindly trees were created with the utmost care and patience. The artists collected several branches and wrapped them meticulously in sturdy wool. They then placed the wool-wrapped sticks in small white jars containing dye. Once the wool was slightly dampened the color in the pots were drawn upwards in an almost botanical fashion.

The result of the creative team's careful preparation is a resplendent forest befitting of Alice herself. The installation is set up in a manner that encourages visitors to move amongst the pieces directly engaging with the sugary tones and whimsical shapes of this otherworldly forest. Mesmerizing and beyond stunning, the 'Dye in the Wool' beckons your inner child to come out and play.
