Iconic SUV Facelifts

The Land Rover Defender DC100 Concept Gives the 63-Year-Old Ride a New Look

The Land Rover Defender DC100 concept is sure to make some people very happy and some people very angry. Land Rover has decided to give the iconic Defender a facelift, making the car look more modern and stylish than its previous incarnations.

The Land Rover Defender was first released in 1948. Since then, the design of the Defender hasn't changed much. Land Rover is taking a significant risk by updating what could easily be called its most popular model. The new Land Rover Defender DC100 concept has two doors, a thinner body and a boxy top reminiscent of nearly ever LR ever made. The DC100 is not the new Defender per se, but it is the new platform from with the company plans to build future Defenders. You can see the Land Rover Defender DC100 concept in person when it makes its public debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month.
