Two-Headed Torches

Junwon Yang's Emergency Flashlight Lights the Way from the Front and Back

Junwon Yang is attempting to make flashlights safer with his creatively named Emergency Flashlight design. Yang's Emergency Flashlight is an ingenious concept that lights both ends of a flashlight. The rear end of the flashlight would be lit at an angle so that its light focuses on the floor.

The rear end of Yang's flashlight points at the floor so that those behind the leader of the group (in theory, the person with the flashlight) can see where they are going. This simple redesign could easily prevent small missteps from becoming serious injuries in the event of an emergency.

Yang's design is simple and inventive and could easily be implemented into today's flashlights. You can see Yang's Emergency Flashlight along with a ton of other conceptual flashlights from various designers here.
