Handwritten Book by J.K. Rowling Fetches $3.98 Million at Auction

A rare handwritten work, “The Tales of Beedle the Bard,” a Harry Potter book by writer J. K. Rowling fetched more than 40 times its estimated value on December 12th in London. There were 10 bidders and the winning bidder was a London-based dealer Hazlitt, Gooden, and Fox. All proceeds from the $3.98 million will be donated to The Children's Voice, a charity Rowling co-founded two years ago to support helpless children across Europe.
