Smurf-Inspired Cities

The Blue-Painted Juzcar is a Village Designed to Promote the Smurfs 3D Movie

The village of Juzcar has gotten a movie makeover! The newly blue-painted Juzcar was redesigned as part of a global promotion for the Sony Pictures film 'The Smurfs 3D.' It may seem a little extreme, but this paint job is not just a movie promotion. The buzz it is generating is turning the small coastal village into a popular tourist attraction.

The remote village is located in Spain’s Malaga region. According to Oddity Central, it is a peaceful, traditional village with a population of just 250. Yet Sony has selected it as the perfect location for the world premiere of its new film 'The Smurfs 3D' and the city's population couldn't me more excited at the idea! The big premiere will take place in the village on June 16. The redesign took twelve unemployed locals and 4,200 liters of paint to turn Juzcar into a real-life Smurf village.

Sony has agreed to turn the village to its former white state, but apparently some locals are now considering leaving the town as is in hopes that the charming village could become a permanent tourist spot.
