The text in his work is created using strokes borrowed from Chinese characters that are subsequently restructured into letters of the traditional Roman alphabet. The characters displayed on the walls crumble to the floor as the stories are read and are resurrected upon completion to offset a cycle of falling stories.
According to Artist A Day, "Shimizu is influenced by Japanese traditions and practices–the relationship between history and modern society and between the self and other people. His work ranges from photography to three-dimensional objects and installations."
This mystical masterpiece is the artist's third and largest in a series of text-based installations which date back to 2009.
