A wander through St John’s Gate in London at Clerkenwell Design Week might lead you to celebrate your shape with this playful installation called 'Be a Pin Up!' Lulu Guinness took the popular 1980s toy and magnified it into a massive version that stands as tall as the average person.
Six thousand chrome capped aluminum pins make up the surface of the modeling material. Each tack appears to be about 8 inches in length, allowing a human subject to impress his bodily form into the vertical bed of nails to reveal quite detailed contours. Up to three people can be seen posing together within 'Be a Pin Up!' and the artist has lightheartedly decided to launch a competition for the best pin-up portraits.
