Knitted Neon Furniture

Baita Design Wool Seating Turns Stitching Psychedelic

Crocheted items are often categorized with conventional crafty objects, but this Baita Design Wool seating takes a a much more new-age appearance.

Heinz Muller and Helena Baita Bueno collaborated on this vibrant project, in which this Wool chair and stool were formed from very clean, geometric wood framing and vivified with woven cushions of spectral stitching that have been left to dangle down below each seat. The outcome is a colorful little collection of furnishings with all the hand-knitted detail of arts and crafts items, and all of the spirit of contemporary collectables. Past and present are further bridged in these two fetching pieces of furniture thanks to a reference to the tradition Smyrna carpet style in the yarn patterning of the Baita Design Wool seating.
