Disembodied Beauty Photography

This Marco D'Amico Vogue Italia Series is Eerie and Enchanting

The futuristic fashion photography of Marco D'Amico was featured in Vogue Italia's New Talent section, which dedicates itself to newcomers in the fashion industry. Stylist Italo Pantano created minimalist monochromatic looks worn by model Anna Juzova within this photo series. The sleek images were deconstructed post-production by Marco D'Amico and reconstructed into futuristic avant-garde fashion imagery.

With double exposure and the manipulation of geometric effects and curves, the kaleidoscopic images disembody its subject and sometimes transforms her into a many-limbed insect-like creature.

Photography might be making painting and other forms of visual arts obsolete, but the forms of expression painters developed in the past have not lost their relevance. Marco D'Amico's manipulation of fashion imagery might seem futuristic, but it also has a retro element to it. They recall the paintings of early-modern surrealist artists Marcel Duchamp and Rene Magritte, who created similar images in the 1920s.
