Toy Brick Picture Cameras

The Legotron Camera is a Snapshot of DIY Success

When I was younger, I used to make doll houses and pen holders from LEGO, but even then, I never could have dreamed that something like this Legotron Camera could actually work.

Alas, creator Cary Norton build this playful piece of technology from a collection of borrowed toy blocks, a $40 lens from eBay, a glass slot, a lens board and good old chamber defined by the space the knickknacks surround.

The 4x5 specimen of frolicsome photographic equipment boasts a 127mm ƒ4.7 lens, dimensions of 7in by 6.5in by 7in, and fantastic pictures. Four images taken by the lego camera are featured on the photographer's blog, revealing a spellbinding style of misty black and white. The Legotron Camera may not be as fine-tuned as store-bought counterparts, but it offers an artsy flavor of form and final product.
