Translucent Architecture

Architectural design firm Produkcija 004 has created what they call the Emergency Terminal in Croatia.

While not given the prettiest name, the Emergency Terminal contrasts its use as an emergency building that offers healthcare, medical supply and laboratories with its translucent and glowing exterior. The result is a cool combination of simple, beautiful architecture and useful services. Good to see that design doesn't need to be compromised for usefulness.

Implications - The healthcare building is 14,000 m2 in surface area and can hold up to two million citizens! The building looks very futuristic on the inside and features a multi-level parking garage for ambulances and patient beds in wide open spaces. There is a lot of natural light that shines through, which will put both workers and patients in a good mood.
