Magic Meets Acrobatics

Cirque du Soleil 'Believe' to Star 'Criss Angel'

Criss Angel, the young rock magician and escape artist, is collaborating with Cirque du Soleil to launch Believe, a new Las Vegas show at the Luxor Hotel and Casino.

The teaser for the much-anticipated show has finally been launched, and can be seen above.

The show kicks off in about five months and will feature Angel performing his illusions, magic and mind-blowing tricks alongside the incredible acrobatic talents Cirque du Soleil is known for. Angel, who helped write the show, stars as the lead character, a Victorian Noble.

“Angel's illusions will be a major part of telling the story, rather than individual standalone elements, making this unlike anything he or Cirque du Soleil has done before,” LasVegasLogue says.

The new show was named after a quote by Angel's idol, Harry Houdini. “After my death, many people will claim that they are still able to communicate with me,” the magician told his wife on his deathbed. “If their claims are valid, they will be able to tell you a code word — that word is BELIEVE.”

If you can't wait, maybe you can try and sneak in for a preview performance, set for September 1-11, 2008. The official gala premiere will be September 12, with the official show starting September 14.
