Genetically Engineered Pets

Fluorescent GloFish

Researchers in Singapore have been experimenting with injecting fluorescence genes from jellyfish into average Zebra fish eggs and have produced fluorescent GloFish.

The experiment will enable researchers to study pollutants in fish and the water they live in to a much greater detail without harm to the fish or the ecosystem. Recently however, this newly-created "species" has found it's way to the American home market and websites such as GloFish give instructions on how to care for and maintain your fish as well as buying resources for those interested in owning these genetically engineered fad fish.
