BluePerformance Debut at NAIAS

The world's largest Auto Show is fast-approaching, and one of BMW's exciting reveals will be their new diesel engines.

The BMW Advanced Diesel with BluePerformance will be seen in two new diesel models which will debut at Detroit's 2008 North American International Auto Show. The blue tech will be featured in the X5 xDrive35d and 335d and will have 3 L inline-six cylinder diesel twin turbos.

"In the U.S., the 3.0L twin-turbo diesel is expected to produce 265 hp and 425 ft-lbs of torque, which is plenty for us. At the same time, it will return 23 city/33 highway mpg and take the 335d sedan to 62 mph in 6.2 seconds," AutoBlog explained.

The NAIAS will run from Saturday, January 19 to Sunday, January 27, 2008.
