Mark Jenkins Embed Series

Mark Jenkins has been featured on Trend Hunter before, but his new Embed series was worth a mention. Jenkins is an American artist who specializes in street installations, some of which can be described as "prank" installations. Jenkins creates projects using clear packing tape with which he makes babies, small children, adults and animals and places them on busy streets in cities such as New York, Los Angeles and Washington D.C.

Jenkins places these objects in clear view of unsuspecting pedestrians and then documents their reaction through video. The project in the gallery called the Embed Series involves life-sized figures dressed in real clothes and placed in the most unlikely positions such as that upside down half body sticking out of that electricity box in a city's corner.
