Vortex-Inspired Superstructures

The Faroe Islands Education Centre by Bjarke Ingels Group and Fugl

The Faroe Islands Education Centre, located in Torshavn on the Fore Islands, will be the largest structure ever to be built on the island. And, presumably, the only one that mimics the shape of a vortex.

Designed by Danish architects Bjarke Ingels Group and Faroe Islands architects Fuglark, the Faroe Islands Education Centre will serve as the educational institute for the region. It is designed with a radiating structure (like a vortex) and a panoramic view that overlooks the sea, mountains, and harbor of the surrounding area.
