Deep Fried Chocolate

Greasy Fried Mars Bars Are International Culinary Hits

When I first heard of deep fried Mars bars, I thought it might have been the result of some high school or college experiment “truth or dare” game.  Of course I was proven wrong, when seeing on the menu of a local restaurant.

Having done a bit of research (and by “research”, I mean typing “deep fried mars bars” in a Google search), I found this dessert treat to have been served in several countries, including, Scotland, Australia, England, Canada and New Zealand.

The usual technique of this less than healthy treat, is to cover a Mars bar in batter before frying, and to serve it alongside a scoop of ice cream.
