IQOO Reveals the IQOO 16, a Flagship Phone Built For Gaming

iQOO's iQOO 16 is a flagship smartphone that pairs a gaming-focused hardware stack with a redesigned rear look, featuring the new "Tomorrow's Porthole" camera module. The handset ships in three finishes named Chasing Light, Legend and Track, and the Chasing Light variant uses laser holographic imaging for shifting red and blue effects.

The front is built around a Samsung M16 OLED panel that delivers 2K resolution at a 165Hz refresh rate, a 2,800-nit global peak and up to 10,000 nits local peak brightness. The display supports Q-Flex touch tech with up to 500Hz multi-finger sampling and 5,000Hz instantaneous sampling, plus 508 ppi, DC dimming and DCI-P3 color coverage. The back houses a large-sensor triple camera in a squircle island with a hexagonal pattern and confirmed 100x digital zoom.

The phone is expected to run on a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 alongside an in-house Q4 gaming chip to sustain high-performance play and graphics. For buyers in China, iQOO opened early pre-reservations and a 9.90 yuan "lucky bag" promotion that unlocks potential rewards, giving an incentive to secure the device before general availability.
