It doesn't come as much of a surprize to hear that Sara Urasini was awarded first place in the International Bicycle Design competition at Taipei. The simple bamboo attachment she created can be secured onto a standard bicycle and used to carry groceries and goods from the day. All the materials used in the design are completely eco-friendly, natural and readily available. This makes it easy for people in developing countries to assemble the transportation device themselves.
The natural bike attachment houses 12 containers that are balanced perfectly so that users in less industrialized countries can use them as a stall in markets. The structure can also be taken off the bike and carried around whilst you go about your business. All of these socially conscious elements combine to create a product that is a design triumph.
