The Nike Women's Blazer Mid is Blindingly Shiny

The Nike Women's Blazer Mid is a shamelessly glossed out basketball shoe, designed specifically for women ball players, to celebrate and commemorate the genesis of Nike Basketball. Way back in 1972, Nike made its first ever venture into the world of hoops with the Nike Blazer shoe.

The shoe was extremely simple but featured market-leading innovations for its time, including an upper anchored on a cupsole. However, what really made the Blazer iconic on and off the court was a rather special design element -- an over-sized suede Swoosh that could easily be customized in different colors via permanent marker. Importantly, it was one of the first shoe models to receive a women-specific version.

The Nike Women's Blazer Mid features said over-sized Swoosh in a modern, shiny design. It will be available for purchase at select retailers as well as the Nike Sportswear website starting August 16.
