The Mallory Gems: Looking At Art project amasses pictures of people examining and appreciating artwork. An assembly of cities, museums and of course, individuals are featured in the series, each one taking in large displays of painting, pottery and just about any medium imaginable.

Among the many spots featured in Gems: Looking At Art is the Boston Public Library. The documentation of artists is also present as designers Oscar Cahen, Alex J. Rota, Dick Bruna and Ji Hyun Yu are all mentioned. The tags only provide additional information however as the real focus of the collection is placed upon the act of appreciation, one that has been seldom recorded by those involved in the industry.
