Converse is giving the SHAI 001 a bright new Sun Ray/Egret colourway, with an orange upper that makes the signature basketball shoe stand out while keeping its Converse identity intact. The release comes as the model has attracted attention for appearing in versions carrying different branding.
The retail version replaces the Nike text seen on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s player edition with Converse’s Star logo on the heel. White detailing around the collar and laces adds contrast to the orange upper, while the shoe is already available at select international retailers for $130.
The branding creates a clear distinction between the consumer release and the version worn by Shai himself. Rather than being a minor finishing detail, the heel logo has become part of the story around how the signature model is presented to fans.
