The Olympic Games are dominating this year's news, sports and entertainment coverage and sports brands are taking advantage of the media frenzy by constantly releasing Olympic-themed sneakers.

Adidas' 'Stan Smith 24K Gold' sneakers are one of the more subtle options in the market of shoes that are inspired by the gold medals that Olympic athletes are all competing for. The Olympic-themed sneakers are almost completely white except for a few sophisticated gold accents on their heels and tongues.

The Olympics' much-awaited opening ceremony featured American athletes wearing classic clothes rather than the athletic ones we are used to seeing them in. The preppy clothes were designed by Tommy Hilfiger and included red, white and blue boat shoes that represented the American flag.
