Love her or hate her, there is no denying that Madonna is a master of her craft. After bursting on the scene with ‘Everybody’ back in 1982, she was instantly written off as a fad and a one hit wonder. Forward to 2008, and she is still ruling the world of music. Her last tour "Confessions ..." was the highest-grossing tour ever by a female artist. Earlier this year, Madonna surpassed Elvis Presley as the artist with the most top 10 hits with ‘4 Minutes’ becoming her 37th top 10 hit.
But Madonna is more than a music superstar. She is a cultural icon that has inspired numerous fashion designers and artists. Her Sex book and Erotica album almost ruined her career, but helped break taboos and open the minds of people to important social issues.
Madonna, who claims she has a spiritual age of 36, is not letting the age of 50 slow her down. She is embarking on a global world tour later this month. The Sticky & Sweet Tour promises to be her best yet, with a cameo from non-other than her former kissing partner, Britney Spears.
