It's hard to get away from the idea that it's flu season -- whether it's ads, your doctor or your mother telling you to buck up and get a flu shot -- and these charitable vitamin companies target a more consistent and holistic approach to health. But more than that, however, the goal for many of these businesses isn't simply to sell products but to consider the triple bottom line, that is, people, planet and then profit.
A few of these charitable vitamin companies use the now TOMS-famous "one for one" model which means that for every bottle of the goods sold, the company donates something (sometimes a bottle of their own brand's vitamins) to populations of which they deem to be in need.
