Beyond lending a name and a face to promote a branded product that's already been developed, a number of actors, musicians and other pop culture influencers are taking a shot of entrepreneurialism with inspiring new ventures based on their passions.
Over the past year, some of the biggest projects taken on by celebrities have included Rihanna introducing, Fr8me, her own beauty agency, Leafs by Snoop, Sarah Michelle Gellar's cooking subscription service, Moby's all-vegan eatery, Fabletics by Kate Hudson and a new online community from Ashley Tisdale called The Haute Mess.
One of the most unexpected projects of all is an apparel line from Tyler, the Creator called 'Golf,' which came about not because he loves the sport, but simply because the rapper is fond of the way the word sounds.
