The Ears Stool by Ayala Serfaty is part of the designer’s Aqua Creations and aims to take a unique perspective on felt upholstery using a three-dimensional design and hand-crafted technique. Tel Aviv-based Serfaty created the seat from a solid metal tripod frame with cushion and upholstered it with multiple layers of felt.
From far away, the Ears Stool looks like it could be carved from wood or stone -- it seems almost reptilian. Upon closer inspection, the fuzzy texture of the felt becomes apparent.
The Ears Stool by Ayala Serfaty was created in collaboration with Irit Dulman, a textile artist.
