MAC Defies Odds and Turns Makeup into the Focus on the Runway

Makeup has always been highly associated with the fashion industry; it is no surprise to see makeup artists bustling behind the scenes at fashion shows. In most cases, makeup is seen as secondary to the clothing on the runways, but Chantel Miller of MAC Cosmetics defied this norm recently at the Rodarte Spring/Summer 2010 show.

Miller, a senior artist, in collaboration with designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy, created full-sleeve, half-sleeve, and neck tattoo designs meant to evoke the feeling of a futuristic tribe. To put in context the type of dedication it takes, it took Miller and 40 artists four hours to prepare all the models before the show using only MAC cosmetics and brushes.
