Angular Momentum Creates Watches to Commemorate Historic Love Story

A love story can inspire alot of things—movies, songs, poems, and now watches! The Angular Momentum watch company has designed a timepiece to honor the love between Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal (as in the Taj Mahal).

Shah Jahan was so distraught over the loss of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal, he commissioned the Taj Mahal to be built as her resting place. Now Angular Momentum has created these stunning pieces—which feature of portrait of Mumtaz on one side, and one of Shah Jahan on the other—in their honor.

Each Angular Momentum Taj Mahal watch has diamonds on the bezel and lugs.  Both portraits are done “in verre eglomise enamel in the reverse of a sapphire crystal in traditional Indian artistic form.” But like love itself, these beauties are not cheap—expect to pay over $30,000 apiece, and only 5 pieces are being made.
