Frightening Medieval Educational Dolls Uncovered

These are the scariest dolls I think I have ever posted. In the 18th and 19th century, these dolls were used to educate and entertain as part of carnivals known as misemono.

I can't see the entertaining bit about these dolls if I am honest, but clearly they are educational. The dolls have an abdomen which opens to reveal various fetal models in difference stages of pregnancy.

Implications - Today's society is constantly bombarded with graphic imagery, so it takes a lot to stand out in a media-saturated world. These dolls do a great job at offering a sense of shock, and consumers are likely to take notice. Businesses must remember that in order to sell a product, they must surprise the viewer with originality, no matter how gruesome this may be.
