Fashion Designers Recall Classic Looks From the 50's and 60's

With so many futuristic, metallic and geometric silhouettes walking the runways in recent shows, it was truly refreshing and quite a relief to see some designers referring back to a classic, simpler time. Classic looks from the 1950’s and 60’s are revisited in several collections for the coming spring/summer months, but they're executed with a contemporary twist.

Michael Kors, a forerunner in classic style, walked several June Cleaver-esque looks down the runway in his Spring 2009 RTW show. Meanwhile, a more surprising addition to the list was Diane von Furstenberg, who showed similarly updated-retro looks in her 2009 Resort collection.
